New adventures

So what’s been going on lately? Let’s give you a quick update. In February, I collected every single dime I have been saving since last year and I got myself my beloved new guitar, named Martin. I’ve learnt to play banjo, too.

I started rehearsing with Laurens, Tim, Stan and Rikke from the band Pyrolysis, and yesterday, we played our first show together in Nieuwaal. I can’t even begin to say how amazing it is to play and perform with these guys, they are such good musicians - and really great people, too! I hope there’s a lot more of these gigs to come.

That hasn’t been all, though: I’ve been confirmed to play at MadNes festival on Ameland (sold out in three days!) in July and I’ve been planning a show abroad later this year.

On April 23, I’ll be playing at the finals of my school’s talent competition, and the winner of this contest will be playing at Appelpop! More about this later, so stay tuned.

Last but definitely not least, I will be playing live at national radio station 3FM next Thursday night! Really, really thrilled about this, bring on the caffeïne! I’ll keep you posted!

I’m so happy to be living the dream, and it would not have been possible without the help from my friends, family, fans and everyone who gave and gives me chances along the way. Thank you very much!

2013 in retrospect
I can’t even begin to say how good this year was to me. Not only did I play a record amount of gigs (more than thirty!) in nine months, I feel that I have evolved in my songwriting and style - not solely as a musician, but as a person.
I played in my hometown and nearby cities, but also in The Hague, Amersfoort and even in Spain (that was incredibly awesome and an unforgettable experience)! I played venues such as festivals, living rooms and even a castle, on my own and together with friends (thank you Laurens and Stan!). Combining all of this with a busy school schedule hasn’t always been easy, but it sure has been fun. Of course there have been setbacks but hey, what doesn’t kill you.. =)
December was a great way to end the year with my first time recording in a professional studio, three performances in four days and of course Christmas. I am very grateful for everyone who has helped me along the way and all the wonderful chances I’ve taken.
I’m very curious what the new year will bring! Hopefully, I can perform and travel even more and bring out my first EP, I’m sure everything will be fine either way. The past has already gone and the future has yet to come, so the only thing left is the present: a gift.
I wish you a happy and healthy 2014!

My first time in a professional recording studio in Amsterdam! Feeling like Alice in Wonderland, I really had a blast there. Exciting stuff is underway!

28/29 September was the best weekend out ever; boardsports, travel and music combined! I went to Boardchicks Surffestival at Scheveningen, The Hague. This meant two days packed with surf (sadly, there weren’t any waves), longboarding, powerkiting, performing, films, party, cold showers (brrrr) and heaps of fun with friends. I recieved lots of lovely feedback on my performance, which was terrific! It was the perfect way to end summer, although I wish it had lasted longer…

Vote Lowe for Appelpop!

I’m very excited to announce that I’m one of the 50 acts who have made it to the voting round of the Into The Tune Appelpop contest! Meaning; if I get most votes and plays, I will be playing at Appelpop on September 14th!

This is something I’ve always wanted to achieve and with your help, I’ve got the opportunity!

You can vote by clicking here, liking the page and clicking ‘like’ next to my name and picture. You can do this every day until 12 September, 12.00. This really means a lot to me and I’ll be grateful forever!

Thanks, hugs and cookie dough ice cream

Sun, music, roadtrips and slightly painful fingertips: yesterday (7 July) I played two gigs, one in Culemborg and the other one, later that day, in Arnhem. I absolutely had a blast, it was a wonderful day and the atmosphere was very laid-back. There were several friends coming to see me, which is always nice. In the evening I even happened to talk with some people from Switzerland and the States, and as they were quite curious to hear something I wrote I unpacked my guitar and made that gig number three of that day. That’s the way (uhuh-uhuh) I like it!
